TRAUMA IS
The world defines trauma as a very difficult or unpleasant experience that causes someone to have long term or short term mental, emotional, and sometimes physical problems (or even being numb to situations). Trauma comes from either the absence of good things that are needed (example: nurturing, income, housing, etc.), or bad things that should have never happened (example: tragedies, theft, abuse, destruction). The residue of trauma leaves imprints deep within our memory banks and effects the way we view and process things. It holds our heart in unbelief and we cannot think the way God wants us to think.
Did you know Jesus bore trauma on His body?
If you know Jesus, we’re going to help you to understand the answer to the question and if you don’t know Jesus our prayer is that you will by the end of the trauma prayer.
In the New Testament in the Bible “Trachelizo” is the Greek word for trauma, it means wound or wounded (1 Peter 2:24) …by His wounds we are healed.
And in the Old Testament, Isaiah 53:3-5 is a prophesy of what Jesus would go through on our behalf. Jesus took the most traumatic experience to be able to take it all. This is what our salvation is based on, by Jesus being obedient and going to the cross and being crucified. He took the worst ever Because We Are That Valuable To God. So we can be Restored, Redeemed, and made Whole, back to original created value.
HOW TRAUMA EFFECTS YOU
The residue causes a fracture in your soul and a “dis-ease” in your being that you may or may not even know about (have you ever cringed at something or felt a button had been pushed that made you react to a situation rather than respond to it?).
When you have trauma in your life you react to situations rather than respond to them. Trauma creates how you see the world around you and affects how you define things. People in the military are trained to react to situations, and follow orders not emotions. This is what causes Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Did you ever wonder why people cut themselves? All self-inflicted pain, including suicide, is a result of trauma.
Praying for the removal of the problem doesn't remove the trauma. Trauma residue left after the problem goes is what causes people to struggle and strive rather than overcome. The trauma needs to be dealt with at every level in spirit, soul, and body. And it shouldn't take years! The trauma prayer is about breaking the spirit of trauma off of you and launching you into the revelation of your God given identity in Jesus.
God doesn't want his children to suffer and has provided a way out of the darkness into the light. As a child of God you have rights and privileges and tools in your toolbox, and most importantly identity with the One In Whose Image You were created. As a child of God you have a King and you need to have a Kingdom mindset. We need to develop a grid or way of seeing and thinking that God wants us to have and He will bring us out of everything that is holding us back or keeping us stuck.
WHY THE TRAUMA PRAYER
Many people have dealt with trauma in people's lives by trying to deal with the nature of trauma naturally. They either deal with the physical side or the soul or both. Hardly anyone deals with trauma spiritually. And, oh yes, there is a spiritual side to it. Science is even finding out great things about that.
The Trauma Prayer removes the spiritual side of trauma and goes one step further and fills the empty space left by the trauma with seeds from God. God and Holy Spirit go deep into you to remove every part of the trauma and restore you back to original created value. By doing this He changes you from the inside out, this changes the way you look at situations. Rather than seeing them from a point of pain, you see them from a kingdom perspective. Trauma is no longer a stronghold in your life, you are able to move forward in your identity and destiny and start the chapters in your life.
God has given us The Trauma Prayer to remove the spirit of trauma and its residual effects. It is not digging into your past its launching you into your now and your future.
After doing the trauma prayer you should stay in intimacy with God the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. In the same way that you would create a friendship, you get to intimately know God the Father by reading His word and talking to Him (prayer) and allowing Him to talk to you. Allow Him to fill the void left by the spirit of trauma and its residue and He will teach you and guide you in your now and your future.
